During the turn of the millennium the hottest companies on the NASDAQ were Internet companies; companies that made very little profits, but loads of promise. Everyone was talking about the new economy, and the new paradigm in stock market valuations. As with all stock market bubbles and investing fads the dot com boom crashed as reality hit hard.
