Will the US default on its debt? Perhaps, but at least the answer to the question "does the US have a lot of debt?" is a lot clearer (yes). This documentary provides what is even more timely these days, in the age of the sovereign crisis: a look at how the US accumulated such astronomical levels of public debt, and what (if anything) can be done to bring the US fiscal situation into a more sustainable path.

Based on the book Empire of Debt by William Bonner and Executive Producer Addison Wiggin, Wordplay’s Creadon combines Walker and Bixby’s “Fiscal Wake-Up Tour” with observations from former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, former Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Paul O’Neill, superstar CEO Warren Buffett, and student activists.
